TRIA ARCHITECTURE FOUNDERS
With three managing Principal Architects, James Petrakos, Thomas Szurgot, and Ronald McGrath, Tria Architecture is able to provide the utmost attention to both design and service for each of our clients. Tria is structured so that each principal leads a segment of the firm. James leads the marketing efforts and oversees the quality assurance aspects of the firm. Thomas directs the firm’s financial aspects as well as management of projects. Ronald coordinates Tria’s operations, manages projects, and provides support for the firm’s technology resources.

As one of the Co-Founders and Principal Architects of Tria Architecture, James (Jim) is the Managing Principal and oversees the Business Development aspects of the firm. Jim has over twenty-eight years of public and private architectural experience managing projects ranging from $7,400,000 outdoor amphitheaters to $22,000,000 school additions and renovations. Jim is a resident of Lockport, Illinois where he currently serves as the Alderman in Ward 1. 



THOMAS SZURGOT, AIA, LEED AP

DIRECTOR OF FINANCE


As one of the Co-Founders and Principal Architects of Tria Architecture, Thomas (Tom) is responsible for the management of projects as well as the financial aspects of the firm. Tom has over twenty-seven years of public and private architectural experience composed primarily of educational projects. He has extensive experience managing projects ranging from $52 Million district-wide capital improvement projects to $8 Million mechanical renovations. Tom is a resident of the Village of Clarendon Hills.

RONALD MCGRATH, AIA, LEED AP

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS


As one of the Co-Founders and Principal Architects of Tria Architecture, Ronald (Ron) is responsible for the management of projects as well as the operations and IT aspects of the firm. Ron has over twenty-seven years of public and private architectural experience managing projects ranging from $8,400,000 public works buildings to $20,000,000 new manufacturing facilities. Ron is a resident of Western Springs.
